candidacy of Harold Ford, Jr. Ford's been a big disappointment to me over the years. He's taken his charisma and favorable media treatment and used it to achieve... nothing. I think he has, like many, misread the political winds over the last few years. It's no surprise that a guy from Tenn. dreaming of statewide office is going to be a bit more conservative than one might hope, but Ford went beyond pandering to local voters and started pandering to the center-right Washington media constituency.
