The Future Will Never Come

Count me among extreme skeptics of driverless cars. Yes I get that prototypes exist and apparently work fairly well. We might indeed have a future where cars have a form of super cruise control that does minimize the need to actually drive. But I don't see the more urbanist fantasy version coming true, where driverless car technology creates a superior form of car sharing, reducing parking and car ownership requirements. And there's always going to be the peak demand problem...
