Opening it up to you, my glorious community. What should the punishment for speeding be? I don't mean the fucked up can get you involved in the criminal justice system in various ways (nonpayment fines/warrants, searching your car, etc...) sense. I mean the base punishment for a clear traffic violation with no speed trap (speed trap doesn't mean "cop with a radar gun" it means local authorities that deliberately reduce the speed limit faster than you can reasonably respond in order to nab you). So, say, driving 85 on a 65 mph limit freeway? Basic punishment should be...?
