The weird (and wrong) thing is that it's easier to be brought down by the little things than the big things usually, but I had missed (or more likely forgotten) that McDonnell could have spared his family the tawdry (due to defense strategy) trial and his wife's convictions if only he'd plead
guilty to one felony.
