Generally, if one party to conventions is violating them, then the other parties should stop adhering to them, especially when those conventions are somewhat silly. You can get your revenge on the Trump administration simply by covering them accurately without bothsidesing.
Doing your jobs is the best revenge and you really don't have to be in the White House to do that. Most likely that makes it harder.
I drafted this before the news below, and I was going to write that there would be no solidarity from other outlets, but occasionally I am wrong!
The TV pool networks won't provide coverage today: "Effective today, the TV pool will not be covering events designated as pool coverage of the President. This follows the White House's position preventing CNN from fulfilling its assigned pool duties. There will be no replacement pool put in place."
