Cuba Again

I inadvertently prodded Emma over at Late Night Thoughts to tell us a little bit more about contemporary Cuba. She has far more personal experience with the place than I do, but, given my limited experience everything she says fits what I've seen.

Go there for the specifics, but my general take on Cuba is this: It basically sucks and life is really hard. The "bare minimum" that is provided to the population is charitably "barely minimum." The reasons the Right gives for Cuba's suckyness are usually not quite correct, but nor are some of the mitigating factors, such as supposed quality universal health care, offered by some on the Left quite correct either.
