This op-ed piece
is really pretty absurd. I think there's been some troubling racial subtext in this campaign, deliberate or not, and it's also the case that sometimes things which in one context would be perfectly innocent take on another meaning when they intersect with race, but comparing the telephone commercial with Birth of a Nation is really a hideously stupid thing to do.
