Cable news is bad for you, so I'm not entirely sure the "not even pretending anymore" development
is actually bad. One can have differing views on this, but I tend to worry more about the influence of the NYT and NPR and the supposedly "neutral" press on mushy centrist brains, and coverage of issues more widely, than I do about the right wing press. Or, at least, I don't think I can *change* the right wing press, merely attempt to cauterize its impact on The Discourse more widely.
