This Week In Wingnuttery
Just another example of conservatives pining for an imagined utopian past which, while might actually appeal to them at some levels (assuming they're Lord of the Manor), they really know nothing about.
Santorum And "Black"
Personally I lean towards it being the intended word, but it comes out of his mouth sufficiently garbled that if he wants to deny it I'll let it go and consider it to not have actually happened.
Thursday Is New Jobless Day
+372k new lucky duckies.
Not too bad, though last week's was revised upwards to 386K.

So Much For The People's Paper
Still love Will, but when cost of fucking living raises are "outrageous," well, it's time to just go away.
Waste
Yes we waste a stupid amount of our GDP on various forms of 'health care administration,' mostly the equivalent of lighting money on fire, but I always think the important factoid to inject into health care conversations is we spend more, as a percent of GDP, public money than many countries in our usual peer group. And then lots of private money, too.

Basically almost everybody in this country is one nontrivial medical event or extended period of involuntary unemployment (yes, Chicago economists, such things exist) away from, at best, hitting the reset button and going back the beginning. It doesn't have to be that way.

Maybe A Time For A Taser?
No I don't know the specifics of this and I have no reason to think the police did anything inappropriate, but it's just a reminder that tasers were originally sold as a substitute for potentially lethal weapons, yet they don't seem to be used for that purpose.
Take To The Skies
I've wondered before why ski lift type things weren't given more consideration for site appropriate urban transport. There are possibly very good reasons, just don't know what they are.
