Sunday Evening
Walk. Farmers market. Made ill by too sour bloody mary. Epic nap. Not so bad, I guess.
More Morning, Less Controversy
My boys. NYC next weekend, Valparaiso, IN at the end of the month, Space in Evanston, IL in July.

Phone Theft
I don't know if it's a good idea to chase after your stolen phone, but here in the urban hellhole the cops won't touch it if you call them, so...

On The Edge Of Town
I grew up mostly in a fairly exurban area, although we didn't call it that then. Basically it was in what was then the outer ring of the suburbs. There were still plenty of smalls farms around, since developed into more housing or large office campuses for Big Pharma.
Some people just moved there for the usual reason - it was cheaper - but some moved because they had jobs they needed to commute to but wanted to live in a "rural" area. So a regular occurrence was that recent arrivals to a new housing development, built on what was recently farmland, would do what they could do stop housing from being built on the neighboring farms.
In the urban hellhole I see a somewhat similar dynamic with gentrifiers against gentrification.

Vermin
As I always say, all gun nuts - not all gun owners - have vigilante fantasies. They're basically serial killer wannabees, though fortunately most don't have the guts.
Mock Thyself
I'd actually be quite interested in seeing conservatives writing things which mock conservatives. It's probably true that we're generally fine with liberal caricatures written by liberals because they're written from a place of understanding. Conservative caricatures of liberals fall flat because conservatives really have no clue about liberals, which is why they're always trying to piss us off with things that don't actually piss us off.
But a good conservative caricature written by a conservative would probably teach liberals a few things about how conservatives see themselves.

David Leonhardt's Upshot has been worth reading. The baseball territories piece must've made Nate Silver cry. And he has the upshot on Piketty as well--inequality is a policy choice. And while a global wealth tax may be a pipe dream, universal pre-K and a return to cheap college education are not. Also, bridges and supertrains.

Divine
Promises to rehab the Divine Lorraine are regularly dangled. Hopefully it actually happens this time.
