I didn't catch it all, but Howard Dean was on CNN a little while ago and he uttered a heresy when discussing policy issues, saying, "This stuff matters to people!" And, indeed, government policy does matter to people. It doesn't matter much
to the Villagers, who see it all as a trifling amusement, an entertaining soap opera in which they get to have what they covet most, regular cameo appearances.
