I know conservatives have long managed to run against government while still suggesting that the parts of government people like would remain. But those people were kinda good at it. I've seen McCain attack Obama for being a "wealth spreader" for refundable tax credits, and then turn around and attack him for leaving out unemployed people. Now, after this whole socialist tear, he's extolling the joys of
social safety nets.
