What A Buffoon

While I'm sure there are always simple ways to improve security at the margin, I always hate these stories about how security can be breached. Of course it can!
It only took 27 seconds for him to smuggle live bomb components through security detail in a federal building. Later, he assembled a bomb in the restroom, and then walked around the facility undetected. Video shows investigators taking bomb making materials into buildings undetected In that instance, it was a congressional investigator testing security procedures. But the investigation into the agency charged with protecting federal buildings revealed security gaps that could prove dangerous if a terrorist group or individual focuses an attack on a federal building.

"Federal buildings" are office buildings where lots of people come and go every day. They aren't really obvious targets for terrorism, at least any more than numerous other places. There's a limit to how much security is reasonable and practical.

As for Joe Lieberman:
"It's stunning. It's shocking," said Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., the chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. "It just says that basically some people have forgotten the lessons of 9/11 ," he continued.

Which were what again?
