Elliptical

digby (as usual) gets at a key issue.

I get the dead tree NYT every morning (every morning they don't screw up the delivery, that is). So much of the writing reminds me of a remark Tim McCarver made about one of his own circumlocutions: "Wow, I really surrounded that point, didn't I?"

There are exceptions, of course. But the content of the standard Times story is buried between the lines.
