I don't know enough to have real opinions about the specifics, but I do think it's a bit absurd that one obvious human error caused rail crash necessitates
$200 million in safety expenditures. Such expenditures may be good idea, but compared to the daily carnage on roads rail accidents just aren't that frequent.
