If I were your benevolent dictator, I would, in fact, take all of your guns away, but I am not and given the reality of our Supreme Court's view of the constitution and politics generally, there really is no chance of any actual effective gun control legislation being passed. And finding ways to exclude people from gun ownership in
rather arbitrary ways really isn't going to achieve any useful result.
