A Great Scam, Except For It Not Being A Scam

They played the odds in a lottery where occasionally the odds are in your favor. Not a scam.

MIT students scammed Massachusetts State Lottery for $8 million: report
The math wizards figured a way to buy tickets that guaranteed a big win in the Cash WinFall game. Lottery officials knew about it back in 2005 and only stopped it this year, says a report by State Inspector General Gregory Sullivan.

There was no guarantee of a big win, either.

How about focusing on some actual scams, with crimes and victims. Jeebus.
