One interesting thing from the 2010 Census was that Chicago had lost quite a bit of population (-200K) since 2000, which was a bit weird given that from an outsider's perspective it seemed to be doing pretty well. And the central core - that an outsider like me is likely to see -
is doing pretty well, but the other
areas are emptying out.
