Wait until the election and hope for the best is a strategy. Maybe it is the best strategy. It was also the strategy 4 months ago. I do not think it was the best strategy then.
There were always (bullshit) barriers around Trump and top political appointees, but Congress could've made everybody within 5 feet of all of them miserable. They chose not to.
