Numbers

It is frightening how quickly expectations adapt to "the new normal." I suspect if I submitted my plan to The Stonecutters that the price of "everything being normal" was just 800 people dying of this new disease, every day, plus all the as-yet-fully-unknown long term health effects, there would be much rejoicing.

800 per day is 292,000 per year. It would be just fine. Unemployment falling to 8% will also be just fine.
