It's Never Good Enough

An annoying thing about the early Obama years was that they patted themselves on the back (really, they did, and I don't just mean Rahm, and yes I'm too lazy to hunt for receipts right now) for saving the world and expressed resentment that anyone faulted anything they had done.

I don't want to argue about who is to blame for what exactly went wrong when - choose your own villains! - but the pace of recovery from a very deep job recession was very slow and there was a lot of arrogance from people who were presiding over it. Even if they did the best they could, it wasn't good enough. You run the country. You should never be satisfied.
