Congressman, Sirrah, Have You No Shame???

Appealing to the better natures of people who do not have them is not valuable, nor is appealing to them in hopes that their voters, who also don't have them, care.

Best to point out that the Republican party is just a bonfire of stupid evil, which it is. I know "we're" so used to it that it's just the natural order of things, but that kind of contempt is how the Republicans treat Democrats and everyone just pretends not to notice.
