The Lives Of Foreigners

After 20 years of the war on terror, my firm belief is that absolutely no one connected to the Foreign Policy Establishment cares even a little bit for the lives of people in other countries, and the louder they talk about it the more bullshit it is.

The cost of any "humanitarian intervention" that doesn't involve invasion and occupation is basically couch quarters. If your concern was helping people you would be advocating for literally anything else.

"We" aren't even interested in doing humanitarian interventions in Mississippi or Los Angeles. Tom Friedman is dumb and says horrifying things, but the basic "fuck it, nothing we can do" view was correct 11 year ago!
