YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO, MOOOOOMMMM

For all our talk of freedum, and even white guy entitlement syndrome, the US is very much a security state. Large numbers of armed cops and security guards of ambiguous status everywhere. The Man telling us what to do is pretty much a constant.

While it's quite clear that in numerous ways the weight of the security state does not fall on white guys, it's also the case that from traffic stops to sports events to concerts to anywhere people just gather outdoors generally, cops and similar are always a major presence. It actually shouldn't be that way, but when there's a minor "new" imposition, the freakout is pretty silly in that context.
