UNITED NATIONS, Sept 22 (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump, asked on Tuesday about a potential deal to purchase potash from Belarus, said the US would continue buying from Canada but Belarus would like to sell at a lower price."Belarus has a lot of potash, and our farmers need good prices," Trump told reporters during a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
Or is it some deal made on behalf of some corrupt potash importer? Who knows? Can we ever know? How does anything work anymore?
More generally, and this may or may not be relevant for this issue: a problem of corruption is that it drives out all noncorrupt actors. You can't win by playing by the rules, so you cheat, and when everyone is cheating...
